music for space travelers

mad props to my friend, Dave, who just completed his Ph. D. in physics at U-M. His research is part of that wild, sci-fi sounding LIGO project where they're trying to measure ripples in space-time at the edges of the universe (or something like that). My one-line summary is probably completely wrong, but I know it's some sort of crazy Einstein stuff. Either way, he has the best chapter headings in his dissertation--WAY better than any engineering dissertations I've seen. Some examples:

- Linearized General Relativity

- Binary Compact Star Systems

- Evidence for Gravitational Wave Emission from Rotating Neutron Stars

so, rock on Dr. Chin--and godspeed on that job search. for anyone looking to hire him, he makes a mean martini, too.
