tout lu, tout bu, tout mangé
two weeks later, michigan has turned cold and rainy, the tigers have managed to lost* their division, and my brain is feeling like it is wrapped in a heated, woolen blanket. what's the opposite of bright-eyed and bushy-tailed? bushy-eyed? that sounds about right.
i had my fill of sake and sushi. i saw japanese baseball and the good, the bad, and the ugly dubbed into japanese. i deciphered the instructions to wash my clothes in a japanese laundromat. i ran into a sumo wrestler in a giant toy store in tokyo (his daughter seemed normal sized).
all said, it's so good to be home and be wrapped in lovingly warm arms and legs again. and it's good to sleep, but not in the middle of the day because that just prolongs the pain. it's like the cold sweat of kicking junk for the umpteenth time: gotta go cold turkey, with only coffee and 24-hour breakfast places to help you get back on track. welcome back, self. meet your previous life: just where you left it, but 180 degrees inverted.
*I've been making typos like this for two days and not noticing them. ecxiting how the brain works...or doesn't, in this case.
