breathe like you're dancing
right now I'm feeling a bit manic and I have this image in my head of smoothly jumping a bmx bike off a ramp into a large body of water. in my mind it's exhilarating and splashy and mood-fulfilling though in reality it'd probably be crushingly painful.
sometimes sitting in an office all day makes you want to do things that have at least equal chances of being exhilarating and body-breaking. i want to ride my bike through a thunderstorm on my way home this afternoon. i want to fall out of an airplane and feel the air ripping through my clothes at a hundred and ten miles per hour. i want to be back in the mosh pit during alice in chains at lollapalooza in 1993, bodies flailing and impacting in ninety degree heat, being hosed down by the stage security for fear that people would start passing out.
this is fight or flight stuck in the lifestyle of the new millenium: muscles and adrenaline waiting impatiently to be used; synapses firing and refusing to lie dormant.

whatever did happen to skydiving?
funny, i sort of feel the same way right now. i wouldn't have been able to express the feeling this eloquently, though.
