no lyrics to describe

watching the motorcycle diaries.

making a copy of revolver for your best and oldest friend.

thinking about the future. thinking about change.

these things, separate but connecting in your own mind. it's time to move. it's time for revolution, if only on the small scale of your own life.

I wrote a really bad song once, with the very appropriate line: "it's time to liberate / your home of its deadweight." it's time to simplify and cut off the dead branches. relieve the vibrant trunk of its dry appendages. for me, things seem to be static for long periods of time, only to all change within the same span of weeks and months. locales, churches, loose networks of friends. the core remains the same, but the periphery needs some freshening up. scary and stressful? of course. but what else shall I do? remain where I'm at, get crusty and Old? the job (for now) remains the same. the locale will change by about 40 miles. I will drive less and bike and walk a lot more. really, a transitional phase to an urban lifestyle. I've said for a few years that I want to move to nyc. perhaps ann arbor is the first step towards that.

anyone want to buy a house in dearborn?
