Outside it's all rolling clouds and nearly silent lightning, but there's no rain.

Some days your mood just has no description. It's vague and muddled and shapeless. The harder you try to pin it down, the faster it changes. Some days you go searching for the song to fit that mood, but you haven't even an idea of what genre to attempt.

The Shuffle Gods come across "homesick" by the kings of convenience. You have previously resolved not to listen to melancholy music when on the edge, lest the music push you over the boundary, but this was Chosen For You.

You listen to the words, stringing them together to create meaning for, perhaps, the first time. And you realize that the song is the most self-referential song you've ever heard. It's an emotional mobius strip: a song about someone looking for the song to fit their feelings of being unsettled. Which, if you're this person (and at this moment, you are) this is the song you want to hear. And instead of further unsettling you, the song grounds you; gives you calm.

searching boxes underneath the counter
on a chance that on a tape I'd find
a song for
someone who needs somewhere
to long for.
