Isn't There Anyone Who Knows What Christmas Is All About?

I caught two lovely Christmas movies last night. Here is my take.

A Very Brady Christmas: this was spectacular. all the blessedness of a Brady episode, but with a nice '80s pastel wash. and why did all the boys end up looking like used car salesmen? I thought Cindy turned out kind of hot as an adult, then a good friend informed me she did her fair share of porn after the Brady years. hmm....the image is tarnished. also, Sam the butcher was only shown dressed as Santa--perhaps did the original actor die before this particular reunion?

White Christmas, featuring Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye: what a classic. all the good '50s hollywood stuff: random song and dance interludes, Bing's droopy puppy eyes, and a helluva lot of empire waist dresses. Not to mention a risque(?) "boys dress as girls" act where Bing and Danny lip synch to the women's routine. However, I'm still not sure how to feel about the song that talked about the good ol' days of the minstrel show....kinda creepy. Classic lines from the song "Sisters":

"Lord help the mister
Who comes between me and my sister
And Lord help the sister
Who comes between me and my man"

amen.
